The DCF921 from DeWalt has a 1/2" square drive anvil with hog ring for socket retention. The ultra compact form factor combined with the PowerStack batteries makes this tool the perfect choice for the user looking for a lightweight tool that still packs an impressive punch. The brushless DC motor combined with the impact mechanism allows for 406 Nm of fastening torque and 609 Nm of breakaway torque.
As with many modern power tools, there are onboard electronics that can be easily controlled with the two buttons on the foot of the tool. The first button is a control for the light, to switch it on and change the brightness level. The second button is your mode selector, with two modes being "1" and "2", for high and low gears. The next mode is precision mode which monitors the speed/force to detect when the first impact happens when fastening; pausing for less than a second to give you a chance to stop if you need to. In reverse, it detects when the nut has broken-away and slows the speed down. On the DCF921 the final mode is designed for scaffolding; when fastening in this mode, it impacts for just under a second then stops. In reverse it stops after the breakaway.
