This reciprocating saw has a maximum output wattage (MWO) of 1874 Watts when combined with a 9.0 Amp-hour FlexVolt battery pack. That's 19 percent more power than the original FlexVolt recip saw, the 388. It uses a crank style drivetrain to allow less vibration transmitted to the user, and has a clutch to get you out of trouble in case of a bind up. The shoe at the front pivots to keep the sawing force against the cutting direction, and the LED just behind that keeps the cutting line well illuminated. To change blade quickly and easily, there is a lever that you simply flip by hand, and the saw is compatible with a huge range of pre existing blades.
